Dr. Joel Zarling, MD
Dr. Joel Zarling completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and Surgery Internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He received his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Chicago in Pritzker and a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics at George Washington University in Washington, DC. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas at Lawrence and has been Board Certified in Orthopaedics since 2018.
Dr. Zarling has a special focus on regenerative medicine, including advanced treatments such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, which aids in healing injuries naturally and avoiding surgery. His expertise allows him to offer cutting-edge, minimally invasive solutions to promote recovery, reduce pain, and improve function for his patients.
Dr. Zarling is a Gold Humanism Honor Society Member. Other honors include the Lenox Hill Annual Orthopaedic Research Symposium: Best Fellow’s Presentation and the GWU Dean Rheuland Fellowship.
Dr. Zarling is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Medical Association, and Texas Medical Association.
